What exactly does § 17 MiLoG require of Berlin construction and cleaning firms?
In the sectors it names – construction, building cleaning, hospitality, logistics, the meat industry and trade-fair construction among them – the start, end and duration of daily working time must be recorded within seven days of the work being done and kept for two years. Timesheets that only arrive at the end of the month structurally miss that deadline. Digital recording documents the work in the same moment it happens.

What happens during an inspection by the customs undeclared-work unit?
The Finanzkontrolle Schwarzarbeit asks for the working-time records covering the people and periods concerned. With Jobilino you export those per person and per period as Excel, CSV or PDF instead of searching through folders or reconstructing slips. Because every correction is logged, it also stays traceable when an entry was changed and by whom.

Do breaks really have to be recorded individually?
Deducting them as a flat rate documents an assumption, not a record – and that is precisely where evidence tends to fail under inspection. In Jobilino the team clocks the break, or it follows from the gap between two entries. Either way you end up with a break that was actually recorded rather than a blanket deduction.

How do we prove our hours on a general contractor's site to them?
By allocating every hour to the site, ideally combined with an NFC tag on the site container. At the end of the month you export the breakdown per site and per client as a PDF or Excel file – from the same data your payroll is built on. Duplicate lists disappear.

Do we keep an overview of the crews on large sites?
Yes. You plan in advance who belongs to which crew and which site, and publish the plan by push notification – in each person's own language. During the day a live overview shows who is clocked in and where. That replaces the morning round where somebody notes down who turned up.

Does recording work in a shell construction without a mobile network?
Yes. Entries are stored offline and transmitted automatically once there is a connection again – carrying the original time, not the time of transmission. In shell constructions, cellars and underground car parks that is the normal case. NFC entries work there entirely without a network.

How do we set up someone who starts tomorrow?
In roughly a minute per person. Send the invitation by SMS or email, install the app, choose a language – done. Anyone who would rather not use their own smartphone clocks in at the terminal in the yard or via an NFC tag. No training is needed, because starting and stopping are one tap each.

Does the recording obligation apply to small firms with only a few people?
Yes. The Federal Labour Court ruling of 13 September 2022 applies regardless of sector and company size, and § 17 MiLoG keys on the sector rather than the headcount. A construction firm with five people is under the same documentation obligation as a large one – but rarely has anyone to type up the slips.

What does Jobilino cost when headcount fluctuates heavily?
Billing is per active employee per month, with no setup fee and cancellable monthly. Anyone who leaves is deactivated and costs nothing from the following month. For project-based teams that works out considerably cheaper than fixed licence packages.

Where is the data held and who has access?
On servers in the European Union, in line with the GDPR. You set access rights through user groups: a foreman sees only their own crew, payroll only the data relevant to billing. Location data is recorded only if you deliberately switch that function on.
